Yevgeny Tkachuk, the actor renowned for his role as the Jester in the TV series The King and the Jester, was detained at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg. According to reports from the Shot Telegram channel, Tkachuk is under suspicion of drug trafficking.
The incident occurred around 7 a.m. when Tkachuk was stopped during a routine security check. Authorities discovered a smoking pipe and a concealed package containing an unidentified substance on his person. Unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the package’s contents, Tkachuk was taken into custody. The substance has been sent for further analysis.
At 40 years old, Yevgeny Tkachuk is a graduate of GITIS’s acting department. His career includes notable work at the Moscow Theater for Young Spectators, collaborations with Oleg Kudryashov’s workshop, and performances at the Praktika and Shalom theaters, as well as the State Theater of Nations.
Tkachuk’s acting career began with a role in Alexander Sokurov’s war drama Alexandra (2007). He went on to feature in various TV series and films, including The Life and Adventures of Mishka Yaponchik (2011), The Courier from Paradise (2013), Quiet Flows the Don (2015), Godunov (2018-2019), Dyatlov Pass (2020), Parents of Strict Regime (2022), and Rabies (2023).
In addition to his acting career, Tkachuk founded the equestrian drama theater “VelesO,” where performances integrate horses with professional actors.
