Istanbul is set to experience heavy rainfall, according to a new warning from the Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). The Meteorological Institute had already issued alerts for showers, and AKOM has now confirmed that the rain is expected to continue through the night.
The forecast indicates a significant drop in temperatures, with a decrease of 6 to 8 degrees Celsius expected alongside the rainfall. While the rain is anticipated to pause early in the week, it is expected to return by midweek, affecting Istanbul and the surrounding areas once again.
Temperature Drop Expected
Today, Istanbul is expected to experience cool and rainy conditions. AKOM has announced that a cold and rainy weather system, moving in from the Balkans, will influence the city starting Sunday. The temperature is predicted to drop by 6 to 8 degrees Celsius.

According to AKOM, intermittent heavy showers with possible thunderstorms are forecasted to begin on Sunday morning and continue through the evening. Residents are advised to remain cautious and prepare for potential disruptions due to the expected weather conditions.
